I've shopped at both consignment and thrift store, believe me there's a big difference. For one if you've been to any consignment store, you she notice the cleanliness and organization of the items. Most if not all consignment stores have very strict rules about what they will accept whereas thrift stores will sale just about anything that comes through their doors.
Although it is true that consignment and thrift stores have things in common, like selling pre-owned items. Consignment store owners have a system in place to ensure the items are lightly used and in the case of products, they must be in working order.
Plus Size Model Haley Thought She Didn't Like Wearing Colorful Clothes, Until She Met "Urban Thick!"
Haley writes, "Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE to thrift, especially for clothes. My friends who just helped me move into my new apartment can most certainly attest to my passion for this!
@urbanthick has made thrifting for cute clothes for plus/curvy women even easier through their online consignment shop. Dina has such a gift and a great eye. She uses models of all ages, shapes, heights, and sizes so people can actually see what the clothes they are getting look like on.
I was pleasantly surprised myself looking at the pictures on what looked good on me. I am a dark/earth tones kinda gal. I usually only wear muted vintage prints if any and I never wear bold colors, but y’all! I’m starting to come around to the idea! The pink/red blouse I have on in the first pic, I literally picked it up and thought “I would never wear this.” As a big girl, I’ve always avoided bold bright colors, but I shouldn’t because they look great on me. 🤷🏼♀️ And the truth is, probably whatever you’re worried about wearing is just in your head too. Don’t let society dictate what you should and shouldn’t do.
Be confident, be bold, and love your body for where it’s at. It might not be ideal or where you want it to be, but its okay! You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and you are beautiful just the way you are! .
P.s. Don’t mind my wild lion’s mane or skin glistening (re:sweat). It was raining and the humidity was intense. Atl, you know how we do.
Y’all head on over to urbanthick.com to check out more of their cute clothes! ."
