Paloma is a #COURAGEOUS Curvy You Should Know, originally from Los Angeles currently living in New York. This exotic young woman is doing big things as the chosen sports bra model for the highly successful company Nike. Her personal story is as interesting and amazing as her beauty.
She shares that all too familiar story about having a crying break-down while shopping at the Gap, as a 5th grader. She was trying to find the perfect pair of jeans for her then "chubby" body-frame but nothing seemed to fit. Her frustration turned into tears. A lot of Curvys can relate to this experience. However, now in her twenties, this Instagram social media personality is being seen as a "plus size" sensation and someone we should all be proud of. Read more here.
What does a curvy woman in a new state do in order to make a living and create something she's proud of? The answer, she starts an online boutique and consignment store and names it Urban Thick.
Hi everyone, I'm Dina, your curvy executive officer and I wanted to share my "courageous" story and hopefully you will share yours.
In 2005 I moved to Georgia from California to start a new chapter in my life. At the time I was married and the goal was to live our dreams and start a family. Six months later I was getting a divorce and starting over in a new state as a single woman. #Courageous- The first "courageous" thing was passing the Real Estate Sales Person state exam, then after 20-years of working corporate jobs, I stepped into a job that was commission only. Wow....how different is it to work a job that only pays commission versus getting a paycheck every two-weeks.
In 2007 the economy took a dive and my Real Estate career was over. Life became really scary, I had to find a way to earn a living. So from 2007 until 2013 I took odd jobs while getting my business off the ground. In 2013 the creation of Urban Thick was born and the rest is history. That's my courageous story, what's yours? Please share your story and send it to: firstname.lastname@example.org
