Our Mission: We aim to make it easy for our customers to find clothing that fits and flatters their body type, and to offer a wide selection of consigned and new clothing at competitive prices. Our History.....
I started Urban Thick to create an online community where plus size women and now big & tall men could purchase quality clothing and accessories without spending ridiculous amounts of money because of their body size. I was so frustrated with trying to find plus size clothing that were cute, colorful, unique, flattering and most of all affordable!
I wanted clothing that represented my many fashion moods. Meaning, I wanted to wear unique outfits with vibrant colors. My goal was to find pieces that were tasteful, exciting, and fun to wear. I wasn't finding these collaborations at my local department stores. As a matter of fact, when I moved to my new home in Georgia, my community only had one dedicated plus size clothing store. That particular store closed it's doors a year later. Currently, we have a few commercial plus size stores however, my frugalness prevents me from paying such high prices. Hence, solving the problem with Urban Thick! Urban Thick is an online clothing consignment store. We consign, then sell plus size and big & tall clothes at rates much lower than retail. You'll find these same items at any online or popular brand name stores, but without the high price tags.
What we offer.....
At Urban Thick, we sell a wide variety of "quality" men and women clothing. Our platform promotes ACCEPTANCE of every ethnic group, gender, race, and most of all body types. We define Urban Thick as "a plus size person demonstrating courage and confidence through colorful clothing". For our consignment clients. we get them PAID within 30-days all while providing quality clothing, affordable prices, and excellent service to our loyal customers . Overall, we offer a service that encourages the plus size community to shop, consign, and model quality clothing on our online platform.
How it work.....
Our consignment clients ship us their quality items to make extra cash, while our customers save money buying those same items for well below retail rates. Customers can also get inspired by seeing beautiful clothes on real plus size models that have bodies similar to their own. In addition to seeing people that look like them we encourage customers to share their Urban Thick buys with us via social media @urbanthick on IG and FB.
